Severe Financial and Family Hardship Documented in National Survey of Unemployed Workers

On May 7th at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., the National Employment Law Project released the results of a national survey of unemployed workers conducted by Peter D. Hart Research Associates.  The results of this groundbreaking survey provide new insights into the impact of today's struggling economy on today's unemployed workers, specifically documenting the serious challenges facing the jobless as they search for new work, the severe hardship they and their families experience while unemployed, and the critical importance of the federal extension of unemployment benefits.
